Please train me on TCF Writing Tâche 1 following the instructions in this link: https://hitcf.com/prompt/writing/1
The tool will pick a 60-120 word short message prompt and wait for your answer.
What This Task Looks Like in TCF
Writing Tâche 1 is the shortest and foundational writing task in the set:
- Word count: 60 - 120 words
- Task type: Write a short message to someone you know—neighbor’s note, friend’s invitation, colleague’s leave request, family thank-you
- Skill level: A2 → B1
- Time: about 10 minutes suggested (the writing test is 60 minutes for all three tasks)
- Key: All elements specified in the prompt must be included (inviter/invitee, time, place, reason). Missing one means the task isn’t done—and that is what the official "fit to the communication situation" criterion looks at.
FEI only publishes three families of criteria (linguistic / pragmatic / sociolinguistic), with no per-item points. The coach prompt uses a HiTCF practice grid broken down from those three families—6 items, each /3, and the score is indicative only:
- Communication ability (all task points covered)
- Information description ability
- Vocabulary breadth
- Vocabulary accuracy
- Grammar structure breadth + accuracy
- Spelling / accents
Why Practicing Directly with ChatGPT Usually Sucks
Getting ChatGPT to "correct your essay" usually results in a bunch of rewriting suggestions—but it has no consistent scoring framework, nor will it single out whether you covered all the task points. You might think your vocabulary is fine, but you missed the consigne’s "time and place"—and leaving out task points is exactly what the official "fit to the communication situation" criterion looks at.
Our prompt in this link will:
- Provide the official format of the task (including word count and time limit)
- Wait for you to finish writing completely before scoring (no real-time corrections)
- Count your words (⚠️ if under 60 or over 120)
- Give an indicative score on the 6-item practice grid (each /3), converted to /20
- Annotate sentence by sentence: highlight each error with
[error → fix] - Provide a 60-120 word B2 model answer

Tool: (Scoring phase)
- Word count: 87 words ✅
- Score sheet (practice grid, 6 items /3) + indicative total 14/20

Common Pitfalls for Test Takers
- Writing too much or too little: 150 words or only 45 words. A word count outside the official 60-120 range affects your score.
- Missing key points: Not specifying "when" or "where" in the message—the task isn’t done, so the "task completion" item on the practice grid comes out very low.
- Wrong form of address: Writing Cher Monsieur to a neighbor (too formal) or Salut bro (too casual).
- No signature: French messages end with À bientôt / Cordialement / Amicalement; an abrupt ending reads as unfinished.
- Wrong passé composé auxiliary: J'ai venu (wrong) / Je suis venu (correct).
